Rick McCorrister has 25 years experience working in spiritual direction and spiritual formation.  He is a devoted spiritual director, group facilitator, and retreat and pilgrimage leader.  His unique work with individuals and groups focuses on strengthening one’s spiritual journey through the practice of prayer, meditation, mindfulness, and working with the Archetypes, Sacred Movements, the Enneagram, and the Labyrinth.

Rick is an Ordained Minister in the United Church of Canada.  He completed the Pacific Jubilee Program in Spiritual Formation and Direction in 2002 and went on to become a staff member in the Prairie Jubilee Program from 2002 – 2012.  He is also a current member of Spiritual Directors International.

He has studied the Enneagram extensively since 1995 and the Sacred Movements and teachings of George Gurdjieff since 2000. In addition, his work with archetypal energies and the labyrinth has been ongoing for several years.

In his journey Rick has also studied the teachings of Joseph Campbell, Caroline Myss, Richard Rohr, Pema Chodron, Thomas Merton, Sandra Maitri, Thich Nhat Hanh, Helen Palmer, Rumi, Julian of Norwich, Hafiz, and Margaret Silf - all of whom reaffirm his central understanding that everything (all peoples and all creation and all of the cosmos) are one – connected to each other through Divine Essence.

Out of this context Rick shares what he has learned and what he is continuing to learn about the spiritual journey. People have been receptive to this offering as his experience and their experience intersect to bring insight, growth, and hope. Rick finds joy in journeying with such fellow Seekers and is blessed to be able to share what he has with others. His offerings are always with the understanding that people take what they need and leave the rest behind. For Rick does not have all the answers, but only questions, and a deep belief in what he names as God – the Bright Divine Essence of the cosmos.

He and his life partner Catherine Barnsley work closely, and most recently led a spiritual pilgrimage to the West coast of Scotland in the summer of 2013.

"Rick McCorrister brings a warm and welcoming approach to his teaching and leadership.   His gentle yet engaging style creates an experience for learning that is not only delightful, but evocative. "
